Hextol Traditional Nightshirt Company

Hextol is a local Northumbrian name which was used in Saxon times for a stream which flows through the heart of the historic market town of Hexham. This ancient town in rural Northumberland is a short distance from the World Heritage Site of Hadrian's Wall and is where Sheila Hewson Dobbins established Hextol in 1987.

Now called Hextol Traditional Nightshirt Company, the Hewson Coat of Arms adds a historic feel to this traditional company.

Hextol is truely a family business, and all of Sheila's family have been involved.  Sheila and her husband Andy used to visit craft fairs and country shows throughout the country.  Later, her daughter Kathryn worked with her to build up the business and expand Hextol's export market in Iceland, Norway and Germany.

Sharon, Sheila's eldest daughter took over the business in 2008 and is looking forward to working with her husband George to expand it further.
